WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE?
Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) is a unique service providing family-based treatment to youth that need intervention. These children require treatment in a less restrictive and more natural setting than residential treatment. TFC is designed to serve "high risk" youth ages 19 and younger.

WHAT MAKES THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE UNIQUE?
This unique team approach and the additional support and training of foster parents, separates therapeutic foster care from other foster care programs. Therapeutic foster children need systematic and professional help with their behavioral, emotional and academic problems. The teaching family, social worker, Youth and Family Specialist and therapist perform as a team, supporting each other and helping the child change and grow.

EMERGENCY FOSTER CARE
Children of all ages who are between foster home placements or who have been removed from the home by the Department of Health and Human Services or law enforcement because of abuse and/or neglect are placed in Emergency Foster Care.

These children in crisis need a loving and caring environment. While meeting the fundamental needs of food, clothing, and shelter, an emergency foster family provides additional care to children in a time of confusion.
